Context:
International cooperation requires strong partnerships. Decent working conditions, fair and sustainable supply chains, or halting global warming – the major global challenges cannot be tackled alone.
In multi-stakeholder partnerships (MSPs), stakeholders from at least three of the following sectors – civil society, government, business and academia – work together on an equal footing to contribute to the common good.
Overall, MSPs have had varying degrees of success worldwide. Some partnerships have contributed significantly to major successes in international cooperation in recent years, whilst others have never progressed beyond the planning stage. To support their potential, there is a need for suitable provision of information, training, support and advice.
Objective:
MSPs are better enabled to promote transformative change for sustainable development.
Approach:
Partnerships2030 provides information, exchange and advisory services for government, civil society, business and academia, thereby contributing to successful and equitable cooperation within partnerships.
To this end, the project offers the following services:

- Organising dialogue and information events
- Developing and providing learning and training opportunities
- Individual advice for existing MSPs
The Partnerships2030 project also works in collaboration with Engagement Global – bengo to promote partnerships initiated by civil society.
