Context:
Only a few local administrations in Moldova are able to provide public services such as urban and spatial planning, water supply, waste management and local economic development. To ensure that these services are implemented in a citizen- and business-oriented way, the administrations rely on cooperation with other municipalities.
Objective:
In Moldova, public services are provided in a decentralised, needs-oriented and inclusive way, with a focus on cohesion, gender equality and institutional resilience.
Approach:
The project addresses three priority areas:
It offers technical and process-related advice to enable local actors to develop participatory guiding principles as well as urban and spatial planning documents.
It offers technical and process-related advice to enable local actors to design and implement small-scale measures for vulnerable households such as drinking water supply and waste management.
It finances the National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED) to enable it to prepare business-friendly certification for local actors.
