The Cambodian export industry is becoming more inclusive and climate-sensitive, better aligning with international standards, including those of the European Union (EU) and regional markets.

Building on the "ARISE Plus Cambodia" project, which aimed to enhance Cambodia's trade practices and economic integration, the EU-German GATE initiative focuses on four main intervention areas:

• Trade Policy: Improve climate-sensitive and inclusive trade development in both the public and private sectors.

• Digital Economy: Enhance understanding of the legal and regulatory framework for the digital economy, including consumer and data protection rights.

• Trade Facilitation: Strengthen the capacities of government authorities in risk management and trade facilitation.

• Competitiveness of SMEs in Trade: Increase access to ASEAN, EU, and other markets for SMEs, including women-led SMEs.

The project aligns with Cambodia's development strategies, trade policy, and international commitments, aiming to maximize impact and contribute to sustainable development goals.
