The Qualification and Employment in Tunisia (FORMAT) project is part of the programme titled Promoting Employment through Qualification and Labour Market Policy.

The project aims to create concrete employment effects by promoting training opportunities geared to current and future needs, to introduce appropriate funding mechanisms for companies and to support efforts that involve the social partners in framing an effective labour market policy that will help improve the employment situation for Tunisians.

FORMAT aims to strengthen the services of labour market structures and contribute to improving the employment situation in Tunisia, while covering the following themes at policy level as well as through specific target group-related activities in:

• Employment: covering the axes of qualification and professional integration of salaried employment e.g. through retraining measures;

• Entrepreneurship: classic, social and solidarity-based entrepreneurship measures and the transition from informal to formal work;

• Social Dialogue: enabling social partners to jointly address labour market policy frameworks and improve working conditions.
